Oracle Unveils Open Source Berkeley Database Upgrade

Oracle has lifted the lid on an upgraded version of the open source Berkeley DB database system, the first upgrade of the product since Oracle bought its maker, Sleepycat Software, in March of this year. Oracle is touting improved performance, availability and ease-of-use for both commercial and open source software developers with Berkeley DB v4.5, made available this week.
